Conference Shuffle: Texas stays in Big-12; Oklahoma, Texas A&M, and Oklahoma State do the same

So much for the great conference realignment. Texas put the stop to that by declining the Pac-10's invitation to be the 12th team in their conference. Only moments after that announcement was made, Texas A&M, Oklahoma, and Oklahoma State also vowed to remain in the 10-team Big 12 conference.

It seems like money spoke in keeping the teams in the Big 12. A network deal with Fox Sports will be doubling the teams TV revenue: Texas, Texas A&M, and Oklahoma will all receive at least $20 million in the new deal.

The Pac-10 is still discussing about expanding to 12 teams. This leads me to wonder why Boise State jumped ship to the Mountain West Conference so quickly (and this move also flew very under the radar compared to the rest of the conference shuffling) because I think they would have been a fabulous fit in a newly-formed Pac-12  More updates to come if and when there is a 12th member added.

So the Big Ten is now the Big 12 and the Big 12 is now the Big 10, just like ESPN's Pat Forde had suggested. Will they also follow his advice and just switch logos and trademarks?
