Vibrating Mascara: Do or Don't?

We have all seen the commercials for the newest and best mascara that will give us the boldest, longest, and most voluminous lashes around. But the latest gimmick caught my attention a while back when it first came out: vibrating mascara. What? The brush really vibrated when you applied mascara? What good was that going to do if I had a problem keeping my hand steady to apply regular mascara in the first place?

So I looked into it, and the three vibrating mascaras I found were Maybelline New York Pulse Perfection, Oscillation by Lancome, and Estee Lauder TurboLash. Luckily for me, two out of the three ended up in my home before I had to buy them. My mom is an Estee Lauder wearer and my sister bought the Maybelline version to try. After trying them both, my prediction was accurate: there is no reason to stick a vibrating wand anywhere near your eye. They did nothing that my Dior Iconic doesn't do without violently moving around my face, and they also have a battery that you can't replace, so you may end up running out of batteries before you use the entire tube up.
Verdict: Vibrating Mascara = Don't
