NCAA Lacrosse Gets Custom Nike Huarache Cleats

Just in time for the 2011 NCAA Lacrosse season, Nike has come out with custom cleats for four of the top college lacrosse programs. The cleats, called the Nike Zoom Huarache II, were made specially for UNC, UVA, Syracuse, and Johns Hopkins. The spikes are customized with the teams' colors, their logos are wrapped around the bottom of the shoe, and the insole of the shoe has the teams' colors and name on it. Not to mention, the actual shoe is obviously decked out with their colors as well. I find it interesting that the 4 teams that were chosen are so similar in color palates (UVA & Syracuse; Hopkins & UNC), but I'm sure that's just a coincidence. UNC's and UVA's are my favorite, but that's most likely because I'm biased and hate Hopkins.

Inside Lacrosse has further commented that this is only a sampling of what Nike is offering and that more are available for other teams. Hopefully they have some for the 2010 National Champions as well. I'm excited to see the Nike-sponsored teams run around the fields in these cleats; I'm a big fan.

  1. Your hate of Hopkins is befuddling... It's not like they beat Duke when it counts.

  2. My hate of Hopkins goes well beyond them being Duke's competition...
