October 2012 [Beauty & Fashion] Favorites

Another month has come and gone, and somehow we are already in November! So today, I wanted to share with you my October 2012 Beauty & Fashion favorites, which will vary anywhere from makeup to jewelry, to clothing or perfume! I'll probably do individual reviews and swatches of all of these products at some point, so make sure to check those out when I do. Also, don't forget to look out for my October Non-Beauty favorites as well when those get posted! But without further ado, my October 2012 Beauty & Fashion Favorites.

Usually in these posts I'll have a wide mix of old, re-discovered favorites, favorites that have never stopped becoming favorites, or new products I've discovered throughout the month, and October is no exception!

MAC Blush in Gingerly
I recently discovered this blush through Allison (or Amarixe here in the blog world - her blog is www.amarixe.com), and she said that this was the perfect brown-toned blush. At first, I couldn't figure out what the difference between a brown blush and a bronzer would be, but after using it I really love the effect it has on my skin. When I use it, I generally don't even use bronzer, as it gives the perfect brown tone to my cheeks. It's been my staple blush this fall. MAC blushes retail for $20 and you can find them in MAC stand-alone stores or at MAC counters in department stores. [Find it here!]

Chanel Illusion D'Ombre Eyeshadow in Emerveille
I've been wearing this beautiful cream eyeshadow as a base underneath most of my neutral eye looks since I bought it in Europe this past summer. It's similar in packaging, consistency and purpose to MAC Paint Pots, but I think it is just so much smoother (I guess that's what you get when you upgrade to Chanel). I absolutely love this eyeshadow, and I'm not sure if you can tell from the picture, but I've made quite a significant dent in the pot I have. These eyeshadows are pricey at $32 a pop, but I think this one is absolutely worth it if you're looking for a splurge. [Find it here!]

Maybelline Plush Eyeshadow Palette in Cozy Cashmere
This eyeshadow palette is one of the ones Maybelline released with their fall makeup line (another one I highly recommend is Olive Martini). I have been wearing various combinations of these colors throughout the month of October. The light, shimmery shade is unlike anyone I own, which is saying something for me because those are the shades I generally gravitate towards. The entire palette is really unique in color, with two shimmery and two matte colors. I will be doing a review and swatch on this palette soon, so make sure to look out for it. This palette varies in price depending on where you get it, but I got mine for $9.99 at Ulta.

MAC Lip Pencil in Cherry
This is a permanent lip pencil color in MAC's collection, but it was one of 3 that were re-promoted for MAC's Marilyn Monroe Collection ($1.50 extra for glossy, black packaging). In my opinion, this is the perfect lip pencil, in color and consistency, to wear under your bold, blue-toned red lips (which tend to flatter me more). It retails for $15.00 wherever MAC is sold. [Find it here!]

YSL Glossy Stain in #10 Rouge Filtre
I bought this extremely unique lip product at the Duty Free shop in Rome's airport (which I quickly realized I should have done with all of my makeup). The YSL Glossy Stains are the most interesting lip product I've ever come across. You apply three separate coats with the brush/wand, letting each coat dry before applying the next. It really works like magic and stays put all day. I wore this in combination with my MAC Cherry Lip Pencil to my anniversary dinner with my boyfriend this past weekend, and it was an awesome combination (lip color combination pictured on the right). The reason I don't own more of them is because they are pricey at $32 each, but I think one is definitely worth owning. [Find it here!]

Real Techniques Blush Brush
This makeup brush is probably my favorite makeup brush I've ever owned, so much so that I own two of them (I use one for blush and one for setting powder). It is very dense while still being airy and fluffy at the same time. Real Techniques is a great brush line in general, and this brush retails for $8.99 at Ulta. [Find it here!]

Michael Kors "Very Hollywood" Perfume
This is a long-time favorite of mine that I finally splurged on recently. I had a rolling ball version of this perfume and I actually managed to use it in its entirety. Because Michael Kors has discontinued this perfume, it's somewhat difficult to find, although I managed to snag a bottle online. The key notes of this perfume are mandarin & bergamot, which apparently I like a lot since those are also key notes in quite a few candles I like. The prices on this perfume will vary depending on size and mostly where you can manage to find it.

Bauble Bar + Atlantic-Pacific Pearl Bud Chandelier Necklace
One of my favorite bloggers, Blair from Atlantic-Pacific, collaborated with Bauble Bar and made a jewelry collection that she released this month. Naturally, I bought a piece on the first day it came out. This necklace costs $38 but if you open a Bauble Bar account, you get $10 off of your first purchase. This necklace is a smaller version of the J. Crew bib necklace, but I happen to like the smaller version just as much, if not more. It's also great because the pearls go with everything. Gold Michigan 'M' Stud Earrings
These are just a fun, fashion favorite that I wanted to include in this post. Like I mentioned above, my boyfriend Will & I celebrated our anniversary this past weekend and my gift from him was this pair of gold Michigan 'M' earrings. For being as into fashion and beauty as I am, I don't have that many pairs of earrings, so it was definitely great to add a pair to my collection  And now, I have something to wear every game day - GO BLUE!

Well that concludes my October beauty & fashion favorites! What have been some of your favorites this past month? Let me know in a comment below; I'd love to check some of them out!
