Wisconsin Head Coach Bret Bielema Hired By Arkansas

According to Yahoo! Sports' Pat Forde, in a surprising turn of events, Arkansas is hiring Wisconsin's head coach Bret Bielema. There have been several names thrown around the Arkansas coach hunt, including Oklahoma State's Mike Gundy, but I'm fairly confident this one came as a shock to everyone.

Wisconsin is playing Stanford in the Rose Bowl on January 1st, after defeating Nebraska 70-31 in the Big Ten Championship game. It is still unknown whether Bielema will be coaching the Badgers in the Rose Bowl, but it is likely that he is going to be introduced as the Arkansas head coach tomorrow, with an announcement to come later today. Bielema had been coaching the Wisconsin football team since 2006.

Was this a good decision for the Razorbacks? Is Bielema going to be able to compete with the likes of Nick Saban and Les Miles? Arkansas must think so.
