November 2012 [Beauty & Fashion] Favorites

I can't believe another month has already flown by! December is a bit of a catch-22 month for me: of course there is Christmas (and also my birthday), but it is also finals for over half of the month, so it's difficult to look forward to as much as I'd like. But regardless, I have found and rediscovered some great beauty & fashion favorites throughout the month of November, and I'm here to share them with you.

1. LORAC Pro Palette
I needed another eyeshadow palette like I needed a hole in the head (I already have both the Naked and Naked 2 palettes), but when LORAC boasted 8 matte as well as 8 shimmery shades, how do you say no? The quality and pigmentation of the colors is amazing (I'll be doing an entire post, review, and comparison between the 3 palettes), and the palette itself is super thin which makes it great for travel. My only complaint is the material of the packaging. While sleek looking in the black, it's the same material as NARS packaging and that tends to get really dirty in my makeup bag. But other than that, it's great and retails for $42. [Get it here!]

2. NYX Super Skinny Marker
This is a rediscovered favorite for me, as I've started to do more dramatic winged liner for the winter. I used to be terrified of non-pencil eyeliner, but this liquid black liner has a skinny felt tip point that makes liquid liner almost as easy as a pencil. If you're a beginner with liquid liner, I highly recommend it. It's also under $10 which makes it super affordable! [Get it here!]

3. Maybelline Illegal Lengths Mascara
This mascara is such an interesting one to me, and is also a rediscovered favorite. I almost never like Maybelline mascaras because they all seem to be the same, mediocre formula with the same fat brush. This one, however, is so much different. It has a really long, thin brush with the most lengthening formula I've ever used. My lashes look infinitely longer whenever I wear it - I use it both when I'm just looking to swipe mascara on and run out the door, or when I'm doing a dramatic eye. It's very versatile! [Get it here!]

4. Lancome Bi-Facil Eye Makeup Remover
I just received a sample of this eye makeup remover this month, and I had heard rave reviews about it for a while. I couldn't believe that an eye makeup remover could be so good, but boy was I wrong. I had on pretty heavy eye makeup the other night, and with just a few swipes of a cotton pad and this stuff, it was gone. It was incredible! It did leave a bit of a residue, but that didn't bother me because I intended on washing my face with my cleanser anyway. I'm not sure I'm going to be willing to spend $27 on a full sized bottle of it, but we'll see how I feel when my sample runs out. [Get it here!]

5. Benefit Ultra Plush Lip Gloss in Bella Bamba
I have both the full-size and mini of this lip gloss (from the Benefit Holiday lip gloss set), and it is definitely my favorite shade. All of the shades are sheer, but this one gives just enough color if I'm looking for a 'your lips but better' look. The formulation of these is great, and I recommend the full size ones that are $16, or a 1/2 size of all 6 shades for $26 in the holiday set. They're a great value! [Get it here!]

6. Urban Decay Naked Skin Liquid Makeup in 3.5
This has become my favorite winter foundation. It gives flawless, buildable coverage and it literally has a shade for anyone. I wear shade 3.5 which is a light beige shade with slight pink undertones, and I also could probably wear shade 4 which is a medium beige shade with golden olive undertones. I have fairly neutral undertones (the gold/silver test doesn't work on me because I look good in both), so my foundation shades are always all over the board. But as a rule, the shades that have a .5 in them are the ones with pink undertones, and the ones that are whole numbers are the more yellow undertones. I apply it with either my beauty blender or the Urban Decay Good Karma Optical Blurring Brush. It's also very reasonably priced for a foundation at $38. [Get it here!]

7.  MAC Powder Blush in Breath of Plum
I've had this blush for a while, but I've been using it almost every single day this month. It is definitely the perfect fall blush shade, and it's a sheertone, which I've decided is my favorite MAC blush finish. It seems to be the smoothest & has the most buildable coverage, so you don't need to worry about getting too much product on your brush. It's in their permanent collection, so find it wherever MAC blushes are sold for $20. [Get it here!]

8. Bioderma Crealine H20 Micelle Solution
This is probably my favorite new beauty favorite of the month, thanks to Elle (, Ingrid (, & Fleur ( This is a miracle product, no other way to describe it. It's a French skin product, so it's kind of difficult and expensive to find in the States (you have to order online). It's a cleansing water and it's made for sensitive skin, so there aren't any irritating fragrances. I use it with a cotton pad after I've taken off all of my makeup to get off any leftover residue, and leaves my face feeling super clean. It's definitely pricey but well worth it. [Get it here!]

9. Michael Kors Fur Vest
I have quite a few new fashion favorites for the month, but I decided to limit it to just one to talk about that is by far my favorite of them all. I was Black Friday shopping with my sister and saw this Michael Kors faux mink fur vest on crazy sale at Neiman Marcus Last Call, and could not resist. It was still somewhat pricey, so I felt bad about it for about 60 seconds until I started getting all kinds of compliments on it. Now I just can't get enough of it, and I'm justifying wearing it every single day because it's more like a jacket than a shirt or accessory.

So those are my beauty & fashion favorites of November! It really is hard to believe that 2012 is almost over. What have some of your favorites this month been?
