April 2013 [Beauty & Fashion] Favorites

I thought this would be the month I got back on the filming bandwagon... it's not. April was a crazy month as far as me being busy and graduating sort of took over my life (and studying for the bar will probably be the same way for the next three months). But I don't want to leave y'all hanging with my favorite beauty & fashion items for April!

Beauty
MAC Mineralize Rich Lipstick in 'Lady at Play' (get it here!)
I've been looking for a good, moisturizing neon lipstick to get into that trend for spring, and this one is perfect. It's really moisturizing, which is great since I find a lot of true lipsticks in bright colors to be super drying. This the the perfect coral-pink color to rock in the warmer months.

St. Tropez Self Tan Bronzing Mousse (get it here!)
Holy grail tanning product. Thanks to Carly Cristman, I am completely converted. It is a mousse that goes on completely non-streaky and brown (not orange) & doesn't smell like tanning product whatsoever. My minor complaints are the price and I wish it would last a little bit longer. But it is perfect for a night where you want to look bronzed.

Hourglass Arch Brow Sculpting Pencil in Soft Brunette (get it here!)
I've been on the hunt for a good brow pencil that lasts a long time, and this one is great. I think I might need to go the next shade darker next time I buy it, but I love it. I will say that I recommend putting it on before your foundation, because it tends to slide on my face when I have primer on because it's such a smooth pencil.

Kate Somerville ExfoliKate Intensive Exfoliating Treatment (get it here!)
I got a sample of this from Sephora, and it literally changed my face so I went out and bought a full-sized bottle. I use the tiniest bit once a week on my face, and it looks like I just got a facial. I recommend asking your local Sephora for a little sample to try it before buying because it's expensive!

Butter London Nail Polish in 'Jasper' (get it here!)
My new favorite spring nail polish! I wore it to graduation, and it is a beautiful pale pastel cream yellow. It goes on smoothly and perfectly, and I cannot get enough of it. I highly recommend it.

Benefit Girl Meets Pearl Liquid Highlighter (get it here!)
I've used this product for a while in sample form and I finally caved and bought the full-sized version (which is enormous and will literally last me forever). It is a beautiful liquid pearl colored highlighter that I put on my finger and run it along my cheekbones. Perfect for dewy summer looks!

Fashion
Rubbish Oversized Menswear Shirt (get it here!)
I know own three of these (a black one, a bright red one, and a gray one). They're really over-sized  so you can wear them alone with leggings, bloused out tucked into shorts, or tied up with jeans. They're super versatile and even though they're long-sleeved, they're incredibly lightweight.

BP. Pyramid Stud Stretch Cuff (get it here!)
I had been on the hunt for a gold studded bracelet, as well as a great cuff bracelet, and I came across this two-in-one! I was super excited. I love it, and it's great quality even though it's inexpensive!

Rainbow 'Flirty' Braided Leather Flip Flop in Sierra Brown (get them here!)
I went into Kinnucan's (a store in my apartment complex's shopping center) to buy a pair of rainbows to replace my old ones (the regular thin strapped), and they had this new kind there with one strap that's braided. I was kind of torn but I've had them for a few weeks and love them. They're still classic but are different enough to add something to an outfit.

Rubbish 'Festival' Lace Shorts in Cream-Bone (get them here!)
I have wanted a pair of lace shorts that don't look like a diaper for ages, and I have finally found a pair! These are amazing, and my favorite thing to wear them with is my chambray shirt.

What are some of your beauty & fashion favorites for April? I love spring fashion, but I'm dying for summer!

  1. great favorites! I have been meaning to try exfolikate - I am currently using the laura mercier face polish and I like it but it isn't life changing! I need to get on the st. tropez band wagon too!

  2. So glad I jumped on the St. Tropez band wagon this week. Seriously, I am obsessed! I am not crazy about the price, but I keep telling myself it is MUCH cheaper than a spray tanning membership or melanoma :)

    1. OMG RIGHT!? I am so obsessed with it. And yes, it is cheaper than that and I am justifying it the exact same way!!
