September 2013 [Beauty & Fashion] Favorites

Chanel Rouge Coco Shine in No. 81 Fiction (get it here!)
If I'm not wearing YSL on my lips, I'm usually wearing Chanel. Rouge Coco Shine is my favorite Chanel lip product line, and this is a new color for fall that I'm in love with. There is actually some glitter in this color if you swatch it on your hand but it doesn't show on the lips nearly as much. Trust me if it did, I wouldn't wear it. It comes out as a berry color, & is perfect for fall.

Chanel Rouge Coco Hydrating Creme Lip Color in No. 19 Gabrielle (get it here!)
So most of my favorite lip products are not an actual lipstick (see: Rouge Coco Shine above, YSL Sheer Candy, YSL Rouge Volupte Shine, YSL Glossy Stain... you get my point). But I caved and am in true love with this lipstick. It is the classic red to take down all classic reds. It doesn't match the swatch at all on; it is a very, very, classic red. It is an almost entirely neutral red, but I would say it leans blue as opposed to orange. If you want or need only one red lipstick. get this one.

Chanel Vitalumière Aqua in BR22 (get it here!)
Can you see the Chanel trend? Yeah... anyway. I started wearing this last summer in BR42 for my tan days, but realized that since my skin has barely seen the sun all summer, I needed to tone it down & get a lighter shade. This is the perfect wear-everyday foundation. Light to medium coverage and it barely feels like I'm wearing anything on my face at all. There is definitely a shade for everyone (yellow, neutral, or pink undertones), so try it at any Chanel counter!

OPI Nail Polish in 'First Date at the Golden Gate' & 'In The Cable Car Pool Lane' (get them here!)
In The Cable Car Pool Lane
These are the other two colors that I bought from the OPI San Francisco Collection (I wrote about the first two in my August favorites), but these are the two fall colors out of the four. First Date is a creme brown-red, and Cable Car is a beautiful maroon, which is becoming my go-to fall color. Both formulas are amazing and go on very smoothly (as you can see in the picture to the right of 'In The Cable Car Pool Lane' for my weekly manicure). Shockingly, I didn't have dupes for either of these colors in my collection already!

Jo Malone Cologne in Peony & Blush Suede (get it here!)
I am probably going to be saying a blogger blasphemy, but I have never been a huge Jo Malone scent fan. I've also never really liked the way perfume smells in a magazine sample (who really does?), however when I open Bazaar's September Issue and smelled this new Jo Malone scent, I knew I had to get it as my new fall scent. It's light and fresh, but it still has a musk to it that makes it not a spring/summer scent. Jo Malone is expensive, even for perfume ($60/1 oz bottle), but I really recommend trying it out because I promise you'll think it's worth the splurge.

Rubbish Fringe Pattern Sweater in Mena Navy - Dusk (get it here!)
This sweater makes me so excited for fall. I bought it back in July during the
Nordstrom Anniversary Sale and it is my favorite fall purchase thus far. I've gotten so many compliments on it because of how unique it is and how pretty the colors are. It also comes in a black/white combination, but I think mine is way prettier.

3.1 Phillip Lim for Target Mini Satchel with Gusset in Black (limited edition)
So after the madness of this line, I am definitely most excited about the bags I got. I love this bag. It can be worn cross-body or carried without the strap. I just started getting into cross-body bags in the last couple of years and more recently in the last couple of months (as you'll see below), and this black one is a perfect edition. It's surprisingly roomy too!

Mossimo Supply Co. Kahlea Combat Boots in Cognac (get them here!)
People always say that they can't pull things off like red lips or statement shoes, and combat boots fall into that category. However, I think 90% of pulling things off is just doing it and owning it. That being said, I dig combat boots (even though my boyfriend has no tolerance for them). I have a pair of black spiked Steve Madden ones from last season, so I picked up a brown pair at Target. They also come in black & taupe (which I am might get as well).

Rebecca Minkoff Mini M.A.C. in Almond
(get it here!)
This isn't a new or novel find, but I've been dying for a Rebecca Minkoff bag for years since my friend Taylor was ahead of her time and brought hers to Alabama three years ago. I finally caved and got one about a month ago, and now will be alternating it with my 3.1 Phillip Lim mini satchel. Although now I'm dying for one of their new fall colors - Plum is calling my name!
