February 2014 [Beauty & Fashion] Favorites

Beauty

Hourglass Femme Rouge Velvet Creme Lipstick & Panoramic Long Wear Lip Liner in Icon (get it here / here!)So I have the liquid lipstick of this color, have raved about it incessantly because it is the best red I've ever used, so why not also own it in the regular lipstick and lip liner form? Yes, good plan. If you're looking for the perfect blue-toned, deep red, check this one out.

Clé de Peau Beauté Concealer in Beige (get it here!)
So my waxist Roza and I are basically best friends (because I mean lets be real, once someone is waxing you down there, you don't have secrets), and we trade makeup tips all the time. The latest thing she recommended to me was this concealer, and she was the deciding factor in me finally pulling the trigger on it. I had heard amazing things about it from the beauty community but it is really expensive for what it is. However, as almost always, you get what you pay for and this stuff is incredible. I use it under my eyes as well as on any blemishes, and Beige is the perfect tone for my skin.

Revlon Colorburst Matte Balms in Sultry and Elusive (get them here!)
These were the follow-ups to the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains and there are now Lacquer balms which are very glossy, and matte balms which are obviously matte. I don't have a lot of matte products so I picked up these two and am in love with the formulation. 'Elusive' is a perfect MLBB color, and I highly recommend any of the colors just based on the formula.

Real Techniques Retractable Kabuki & Lip Brushes (get them here!)
Real techniques knocked it out of the park again with their brushes. I was on the hunt for a good makeup brush I could throw in my bag that was really a travel brush with a cover, and that's exactly what these are. The Kabuki brush is what I use for powder on the go, and I bring the retractable lip brush if I applied a red or dark lip that day.

Anastasia Brow Pomade & Brow Brush #12 (get them here / here)
This is IT, y'all. The brow product of all brow products, it is no surprise that Anastasia is the one that knocked it out of the park. This stuff is insane - it comes in a MAC paint pot-like container, and you need legitimately the tiniest bit ever on your brow brush to run through your brows. It is somewhat of a spongy-gel consistency, and it just sticks right onto your eyebrows and surrounding skin, all while looking natural. I also really recommend the brush that is on display with it - it's super soft & works perfectly with this product.

First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Lip Therapy (get it here!)
So I'm trying all of the lip masks / conditioners / treatments out there because this winter completely destroyed mine and I haven't been able to wear my favorite lipsticks because of it. This is a fairly inexpensive lip treatment that comes in a tube and you apply like a gloss. It's super moisturizing and I've been using it before I go to bed.

MAC Lip Conditioner & MAC Prep + Prime Lip (get it here! / here)
This lip conditioner is another one I've been experimenting with, and I like it because it's thick and also has a minty flavor/feel to it. It feels a little bit more luxurious than the First Aid Beauty Lip Therapy (and is a little bit more expensive). The Prep + Prime Lip though is now my go-to lip primer before I put on lipstick. I don't know how it's been flying so under the radar when it comes to lip primers (or maybe I'm the one out of the loop), but I recommend it more than any other lip primer out there.

Clinique Cheek Pop Blush in 'Ginger' (get it here!)
I'm going to be honest, I'm not really a Clinque person. I've never really gotten into the brand, but people have been legitimately raving about these blushes, and now I know why. There is a line of 4 'Cheek Pop' blushes, and the shade 'Ginger' is by far my favorite. It is the perfect everyday coral shade, and it is in a cute compact little case that makes it super easy to travel with.

Olay Fresh Effects 'Everything Off' Makeup Removing Wipes (get them here!)
I try every makeup wipe on the market (although I always go back to Neutrogena), but these are definitely Jamie approved. They get my makeup off well and they have a wonderful fresh scent to them. If you're looking for something other than the Neutrogena wipes, these are a good alternative.

NYX Butter Gloss in Tiramisu (get it here!)
I've actually been wearing more lipsticks than glosses lately, but the NYX Butter Glosses have a great formula, and the shade 'Tiramisu' seems to be the color everyone is talking about. It's a great, nude gloss to wear on its own or over a nude-colored lipstick, and the formulation is great and isn't sticky.

Fashion
Hunter Boots (Short) in Glossy Black + Wellys in Cream & Black (get them here / here!)
Oh my god. After the winter from HELL that we've seemed to have this year, UGGs were just not even cutting it this year. So I sucked it up and bought a pair of Hunters, which I'm actually really loving. I ended up getting the short ones as opposed to the tall ones everyone seems to have because the tall ones fit awkwardly on my ex-swimmer legs. And if you're going to get any style of Hunter Boots and you're going to be wearing them in snow, you have to get the Welly socks, otherwise the boots are freezing!

BaubleBar Micro Stud Bar Pendant Necklace (get it here!)
This necklace was part of Ashley Madekwe's Guest Bartender collection on BaubleBar, so naturally I wanted it even more than the average necklace. It's a deep yellow gold (a bit darker than the picture), and the bar is jazzed up with studs across it. It's dainty and still edgy, and was one of my favorite pieces from her collection.

White House Black Market Instantly Slimming Dress (get it here!)
This is the Little Black Dress. Apparently it's been featured a lot of places (that I haven't seen), but it is so incredibly flattering on any body type and is perfect for any formal occasion. I wore it on New Years Eve and Ben liked it so much then that I wore it again for Valentine's Day. I can't say enough about it - best LBD on the market!

Rubbish Fleece Sweatshirt in White (get it here!)
This is my new favorite lounge piece. It's refined enough that if you need to go out in public while wearing it, you definitely can (and I recommend that you do), but it's so comfortable to just sit around at home in. I have it in white but I've seen all the colors and they're great.

I cannot believe we are two months into 2014 already! What is happening? Let me know what some of your favorites were below - I'm always looking for new things to try!
