April 2014 [Beauty & Fashion] Favorites

Beauty
Dolce & Gabbana Passion Eyes Mascara (get it here!)
I think this has ultimately become my favorite mascara of all time. I love the wiry brushes as opposed to ones with big, fat, soft bristles because the wiry ones really get in there and coat every single one of your lashes, defining them all. This is reminiscent of Diorshow Iconic to me, except better. The best comparisons I can make to it are Benefit's They're Real, except it's less clumpy, and Covergirl Clump Crusher, which is a perfect drug store dupe for it in my opinion. I highly recommend this mascara if you're looking for a splurge.

Urban Decay Eyeshadow in Woodstock (get it here!)
Obviously I had to buy this eye shadow because of the name. Kidding, but it did help make the decision a little. I know, I'm pathetic. But this shadow is actually amazing. Urban Decay's formula is clearly second to none and I normally would never buy a single pink eye shadow, but it works amazingly with the Urban Decay Naked 3 palette!

SKIN79 Super+ Hot Pink BB Cream (get it here!)
I jumped on the Asian beauty product bandwagon a little bit ago, and was hesitant to try the BB creams just because my skin is more of an olive-y shade. This was the most raved about BB cream I read about, so I picked it up on Amazon. I love wearing this when I want something in-between my foundation and just throwing on a tinted moisturizer (yes, I'm aware that's what a BB cream actually is but some BB creams lean way more towards tinted moisturizer). It does have the 'gray hue' that everyone talks about in Asian beauty products - but only when you pump it out. It is completely skin colored when you blend it onto your face!

Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge (get it here!)
This is the Beauty Blender but in drugstore form & price. I use a bunch of different Real Techniques brushes, and like the rest, this doesn't disappoint. It even has a flat end for applying makeup, which the Beauty Blender does not have. For $6, you can't go wrong!

Biore Deep Pore Charcoal Cleanser (get it here!)
I've been on a bit of a charcoal cleanser kick lately, and this one is in the lead for favorite charcoal product of all time. My face has never felt more refreshed than when I use this cleanser, which is saying a lot because I've tried a lot of skin products.

Boscia Konjac Cleansing Sponge w/Bamboo Charcoal (get it here!)
In line with the charcoal products, I've been using this charcoal cleansing sponge to wash my face when I use the Biore cleanser. It's really just like the regular Boscia Cleansing Sponge except this one is 'infused with Bamboo Charcoal'. Either way, I prefer this darker color to the white one because who wants to see all the crap you're washing off your face every single time?

Olay Fresh Effects Bright On Schedule Eye Awakening Cream (get it here!)
My biggest beauty issue is my under-eye circles (they're genetic, which is a bummer), and this has been helping me combat them super well. It has a cool metal tip to decrease puffiness in the morning and it brightens your under eyes instantly after applying. It's definitely my favorite drugstore under-eye product, and you can get it for $13 at Target!

Bath & Body Works Apricot + Honey Soufflé
I seriously cannot get enough of this stuff. It comes in a little tub and smells literally just like apricots and honey. It is so smooth and soothing on the skin, and is perfect to wear all day. You can even use it as a perfume substitute if you want! It's sold out online, but check your local B&BW store!

Fashion
Dogeared State of Mind Michigan Necklace (get it here!)
I love Dogeared as a brand because it has so many cute ideas for gifts in so many different price ranges. The jewelry they sell comes in cute boxes with quotes or messages on the inside depending on what you're ordering (i.e. a friendship necklace, a necklace for a family member, etc.) They also have state necklaces, like the Michigan one that I ordered! So cute & reasonably priced considering all of the state jewelry floating around these days.

NorthFace Venture Rain Jacket in Graystone Blue (get a similar one here!)
I love these NorthFace rain jackets (this is my third one, I have a problem), and Zappos always has so many different colors to choose from. I got a color that is no longer on the site - it's called Graystone Blue but I would probably call it Graystone Purple if I was describing it to anyone. If you're looking for a quality rain jacket, this is it.

Baublebar Beaded Estate Collar (no longer available)
Unfortunately, Baublebar is no longer selling this necklace (I got it on sale when they were trying to get rid of some inventory), but Baublebar is known for their statement necklaces - so check out their website and see if you like something similar! They have a ton of amazing pieces for summer.

Rubbish Drawstring Waist Twill Jacket in Tan Nomad (get it here!)
This is my favorite clothing purchase of spring so far. The tan color goes with all of my spring outfits and looks perfect with a pair of light-wash jeans, a top, and my tan Sperrys. It comes in 5 different colors too, so if tan isn't your thing there is definitely a color you'll like!

Zella 'Live In' Eclipse Space Dye Bra (get it here!)
I had never worn a sportsbra that also functioned somewhat like a regular bra until now. This bra is so comfortable and supportive, as well as pretty! I love the Michigan colors (obviously what drew me to it), and it's on sale on Nordstrom's website now!

I realize I end my post with this every month, but seriously - I cannot believe we're in May already. Maybe it's because the temperatures want us still to think we're in February or March? Either way, 2014 is flying by!

What were some of your favorite beauty products this month?
