April 2015 Beauty & Fashion Favorites

Beauty
Too Faced Cocoa Powder Foundation in Light (get it here!)
I got this on a whim one day to cover up redness on my cheeks and chin when I decide to only wear a tinted moisturizer or a BB cream. I never use powder foundation all over my face, but this is perfect for spot touch ups and keeping in my bag on the go. It's a great consistency too, so I imagine if you're into using powder foundation for your whole face, this would be great.

Kiehl's Deluxe Hand & Body Lotion w/Aloe Vera & Oatmeal in Grapefruit (get it here!)
No secret, grapefruit is my favorite scent/flavor. Drinks, perfumes, lotions, the actual fruit, I just love it. So when I found out  Kiehl's had a line of grapefruit-scented products, I obviously jumped on that. Kiehl's is top of the line in skincare, so I knew this lotion wouldn't disappoint.

Origins High Potency Night-A-Mins Mineral Enriched Renewal Cream (get it here!)

I've never regularly used a night cream but since I'm now technically in my 'late twenties', I decided it was time. I got a sample of this with one of my Sephora orders and loved it, so I purchased a full size during the VIB Rouge Sale. So far, it's been exactly what I need in a night cream and it smells amazing!

Clinique Cheek Pop in Cola Pop (get it here!)
I've been a fan of the Clinique Cheek Pops since they were released last year, and I use the color I already own, Ginger Pop, almost every day. When they released a new set of shades, I knew I was going to get one. It was really tough deciding, but I ended up getting Cola Pop because it was a) beautiful and b) nothing like anything I already owned. The consistency and pigmentation is just as good as on the original products!

Boscia Exfoliating Peel Gel (get it here!)
After reading all the rave reviews about this product and always loving to try a good mask or a peel, I picked this up during the VIB Rouge Sale at Sephora as well (as you can tell, I didn't really hold back...). This stuff is amazing. You rub a little bit onto your dry face and it literally just pulls all the dead skin and gunk off your face. Kind of gross, but you're left with spa-quality results in less than 5 minutes. Totally worth it.

Tarte Tarteguard Sunscreen (get it here!)
Another thing I've never used before is facial sunscreen. If my moisturizer had SPF built in, great, but if not, it wasn't a deal breaker for me. But now that I'm approaching my 30's, I'm starting to pay more attention to the products I'm using (or not using) on my skin. This is a great, lightweight, facial sunscreen with SPF 30, and it actually smells pleasent and not like the usual sunscreen smell. I mix it with my moisturizer every morning. Plus, the packaging is freaking adorable, no?

Rosebud Rose & Mandarin Lip Balm (get it here!)
Just like the regular Rosebuld salve, but with Mandarin in it. I strongly prefer this to the original because I actually really don't like the fake-rose scent, despite the fact that I actually really like the smell of roses. I got this in the tube, but it also comes in pot form like the original.

Fashion
Ivanka Trump Crepe Popover Dress (get it here!)
I bought this dress as a work dress / wedding guest dress and ended up wearing it for the first time at Ben's and my anniversary dinner a couple of weeks ago. The cut is very flattering and I'm loving the new 'popover' style that many designers are doing right now.

Kate Spade New York Card Holder (get it here!)
I had been looking for a business card holder for a while (basically since I got my new job) and could never find one I liked and actually wanted to carry around. Then I found this one, and it perfectly fits my needs. It's a little expensive for what it is, but since I liked it so much, I didn't care. They have them in different colors and different letters as well (obviously, not everyone's name starts with a J).

As you can see, my efforts to buy less things were not so strong this month... let me know if you have any new favorites!
