March 2016 Lifestyle Favorites

Movie: Zootopia
The cutest movie ever. If you haven't seen it, go.

Sweet Food: Trader Joe's Dark Chocolate Powerberries
They're like healthy (healthier at least) dark chocolate covered, real fruit-filled gushers. Nom.

Savory Food: Trader Joe's Crispy Crunchy Broccoli Florets
I literally ate this entire bag in one sitting and I don't like broccoli at all. I will take that as a huge win.

Restaurant: Bonterra Dining & Wine Room (Charlotte, NC)
Ben and I went here for our Valentine's Day dinner, and it definitely didn't disappoint. Plus, their wine list is absolutely insane, so it's great if you're looking to try something new.

Candle/Lush Product: Brightside Bubble Bar
A tangerine bubble bar that can be broken up into pieces and run under your bath water to bring colorful, citrus-scented water to your bath. Breaking it up saves it for 3-4 baths!

Song: Tori Kelly - 'Hollow'
I have listened to this song on repeat for the last two months (and multiple versions of it, might I add). Tori Kelly is a superstar.

iPhone/iPad app: Club W
Club W is a wine club. Yes, you heard me correctly, and it is amazing. You go to, take their wine profile quiz, and they give you recommendations from their small-batch wines. Bottles are approximately $13/bottle, and the minimum order is 3 bottles, but 4+ bottles is free shipping (totally worth it because if you're joining a wine club, you're going to drink that 4th bottle). We have our subscription set to two reds and two whites, but you can make it any combination that you want (and order as many bottles as you want). You can also skip a month if $50 of wine isn't in your budget for the month. It is super convenient and is delivered right to your door, which is awesome for me because I generally go grocery shopping on Sunday mornings, which is exactly when you can't buy alcohol in North Carolina.

WorkoutFlywheel Sports
So my current workout addiction (that has been my addiction since I started going) is Flywheel. I started going to FlyBarre (Flywheel's barre class), which totally kicked my ass. Think PureBarre but on steroids: a little bit longer and a lot faster. I actually never thought I would take a Flywheel class because I legitimately hate bikes. Like, I cannot emphasize this enough. There is nothing I would rather do less than go on a bike ride outside. For reference, I was forced to go on a 30km bike ride in Switzerland while I studied abroad, and I paid double for an electric bike (which by the way, is basically a regular bike) so that it wouldn't be as miserable. So, naturally, I avoided spinning classes like the plague. However, after going to a bunch of FlyBarre classes and seeing so many people waiting outside the Flywheel studio made me wonder what it was about. So I decided to take the plunge one morning, assuming there was no scenario where I wouldn't hate it. Wrong. I was immediately hooked. The best thing about it is that you can track your stats on your bike and the app. I'm addicted! If you've never tried Flywheel, your first class is free so you have nothing to lose!

Person: Jenna Bertram
On the Flywheel note, my favorite human this month is my Flywheel instructor Jenna. I've been going to her classes for a few months now and have been ramping it up the last few weeks. She is so incredibly motivating and amazing in class that the 45 minutes fly by, no pun intended. Aside from the fact that she's a MASTER instructor (obviously), she is one of the sweetest people ever. If you're in the Charlotte area, go book one of her classes ASAP!
